This class is designed to help you relieve stress, increase flexibility, improve balance, strengthen and tone muscles, and quiet the mind. Through gentle movements and meditative breathing, the natural healing rhythms of the body are reestablished. These ancient Chinese traditions offer personal insight and practical tools for change. With regular attendance you will gain a valuable, life-changing experience.

Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:45pm – $10 a class, 8-9 week series depending on the time of year

Tai Chi – Intermediate/Advanced

This class offers improvements in basic stances and positions that will enhance the student’s skills in all three sets of the Yang-style Long Form of Tai Chi Ch’uan. More advanced patterns of movement appear in the second and third sets, including a few kicking sequences. Personal benefits deepen with the ongoing practice of this beautiful form.

Students who have attained a level of competency in the first set are invited to attend this intermediate/advanced class. Thursdays, 6:30 – 7:30pm, $10 a class paid by the month

Prerequisite – Completion of the first set of the form in the Tai Chi class on Tuesdays at 5:30pm

Tai Chi Gong for Healthy Movement

This class uses the ancient traditions of Tai Chi Ch’uan and Chi Gong as a foundation for improving movement skills. Developing new movement patterns through gentle exercises provides relief from chronic, unconscious tensions. Benefits include better balance, deeper sleep, reduction of pain, ease in daily activities, and more. This class will delve more deeply into Amy’s approach of healing through the movements of Tai Chi Gong.

Wednesdays, January 14 – February 18, 10:00 – 11:00am, $60

Seasonal Self-Care

This seasonal workshop series, offered quarterly, is based on the Chinese Five Elements approach to wellness. Learn self-help acupressure points and easy movements to get everything flowing. New perspectives deepen understanding and improve a sense of well being. Reduce pain, increase mobility, relax tensions, breathe more freely.

Amy Erez, of Sugi Health in Carmichael, CA, has been a holistic health educator since 1984. Her light and fun approach to the important subject of health is encouraging and practical for people of all ages and health conditions.
